Give the user a chance to intervene, if we select read-only mode.
Offer a button to clear the lock file if it’s stale, and start in
read-write mode.
This is still evolving, but want to get some feedback on it.
This is a headless mode, designed to be invoked from an installer, not
used directly by users. It doesn’t touch the ‘normal’ installation, but
rather removes the other files FG typically creates or downloads.
The old Mac launcher doesn’t work on Yosemite, add a tiny
Qt-based launcher inside the main process (no need to fork /
exec) which runs before the OSG window is created.
Will be merged for 3.4, hopefully with no impact on other
platforms.
- use old-style reset as the basis for a lightweight 'reposition' command. This does not restore state, or reset
time management, but does reset the FDM and re-finalize position.
Write PID file to FG_HOME, use this to detect multiple launches.
When this situation is detected, set a marker property and place various
objects into read-only mode, such as the NavCache and TerraSync.
PID file is created using open+unlink semantics on POSIX, and
DELETE_ON_CLOSE on Windows, so it will be removed when fgfs exits,
even if killed or crashes.
Replace many lingering calls to exit() from the code,
replacing most with exception throws, which can be
caught by the existing mechanisms.
Update the option-parsing code to return an explicit
value indicating what to do (e.g., exit status to return
to the shell).
Separate other init functions from position init, since they are unrelated, and made fg_init.cxx very complex. Next step will be brining some sanity to the position init logic :)
(Requires latest SimGear!)
Break fgInitSubsystems into several phases - subsystem creation, then binding and then init. Run init over multiple main-loop iterations so the application stays responsive to GUI/OS events during init.
There should be no behaviour changes due to this, except that during init Windows and OS-X should no longer show the beach ball / 'application not responding feedback', hopefully.
- this exposed a bizarre issue on Mac where dragging in <AGL/agl.h> in
extensions.hxx was pulling in all of Carbon to the global namespace
- very scary. As a result, I now need to explicitly include CoreFoundation
in fg_init.cxx.
- change SG_USING_STD(x) to using std::x
SimGear change. It changes all the SG_xxxx to be the 'real' includes, and gets
rid of many #ifdef SG_HAVE_STD_INCLUDES. As an added bonus, rather than
replacing 'SG_USING_NAMESPACE(std)' with 'using namespace std', I just fixed
the small number of places to use std:: explicitly. So we're no longer polluting
the global namespace with the entire contents of std, in many cases.
There is one more 'mechanical' change to come - getting rid of SG_USING_STD(X),
but I want to keep that separate from everything else. (There's another
mechnical change, replacing <math.h> with <cmath> and so on *everywhere*, but
one step at a time)
This adds supports for a language specific font, defined in locale.xml
I've also moved the fgInitLocale() routine from main.cxx to fg_init.cxx
to prevent an ungly extern definition in options.cxx.
Minor patches to initial tower view code. Added calculation for "tower" at
any airport, placed a couple fractions of a degree off the center. Moved the
farplane from 100m to 5km so that "lookfrom" mode can see the model. 5km is
still in a reasonable range for a depth buffer. Note that looking at a model
anything but a small distance will cause some problems on older cards.
Temporarily changed viewer to always report elevation/lon/lat of the aircraft
in order to avoid a problem with the ground trim getting recalculated when
tower and aircraft are on different tiles.
- /engines/engine0/rpm changed to read-only
- /engines/engine0/egt added (read-only)
- /controls/mixture added
- /controls/propellor-pitch added (not used for C172)
BFI:
- getEGT() added
- getMixture() and setMixture() added
- getPropAdvance() and setPropAdvance() added (= pitch)
- cleaned up reinit function a bit
- force reinit only when values are actually changed; for example,
setting the flight model to the current flight model will not cause
a reinit
LaRCSim:
- hook up mixture and pitch to FGControls (they were hard-coded
before)
