07d430c129 More fixes to the ATCDCL & ATC compilation
Rename ATC/atis.[ch]xx to ATC/atis_mgr.[ch]xx, to avoid confusingly
having 2 atis.cxx and 2 atis.hxx in the source tree. Also fix a copy
and paste error in src/ATCDCL/CMakeLists.txt.

d6fceb3fbc Remove conditional compilation of ATCDCL
This patch removes the conditional compilation of ATCDCL, compiling both
the old and new ATC systems. The old system only provides ATIS, AWOS and
some dialog lookups, and hence should not conflict with the new system.

7c73c7d3e5 Added some stubs in the flightgear main code to eventually add a full, FGSubsystems based ATIS system that will serve as a replacement for the ATCDCL code. 2010-08-01 16:16:33 +02:00

d8ae90801a Some additional changes to ensure that FlightGear at least compiles after configuring with --disable-atcdcl. Some substitution code is added in ATC/atcutils.cxx and ATC/atcutils.hxx. Note that the new code doesn't run properly yet. Instead, it is just meant to identify which parts need replacement. Getting that to work will be the next step. 2010-01-05 22:21:49 +01:00

17c42deae1 Initial attempt to establish a better integration between AI and ATC code.
Various other patches that have been lingering around for a while:
 * Moved trafficcontrol.[ch]xx from the Airports directory to ATC, where
   it really belongs.
 * AI aircraft will request startup clearance, and ground control will
   approve.
 * Starting AI Aircraft will be pushed back to a predefined holding point
on the ground network, and wait a while before taxiing out to the runway

4e24fba0d5 Merging David Luff's AI/ATC code with AIModels. Part 1:
- Move Dave's original code to a new directory (ATCDCL) so we can recycle
the original ATC directory for generic ATC functions.

Erik Hofman:
This patch contains an update to net_ctrls.hxx that adds an extra 100 bytes
(or an equivalent of 25 (u)int32_t types) of reserved space. This could be
used to make the protocol forward and backward compatibel within a certain
scope. Be sure to read the instructions at the begining of the header file
when addinf new variables.

9b7405304d Major re-work of the comm frequency storage and lookup. Only a small core amount of data is now stored instead of the whole ATC classes. All the comm frequency types are now stored in one map instead of a map each. query(...) and query_bck(...) have been renamed to FindByFreq(...) and FindByPos(...) for clarity and consistency with NavList 2003-02-06 10:42:43 +00:00

c581cfa395 Preliminary support for AI planes from Dave Luff. This works only at
KEMT (w120n30 scenery), and you will have to set the property
/sim/ai-traffic/enabled to 'true' to see the other plane (and tune
comm1 to 121.2 to hear the other plane's radio calls).

4f00d9a959 Tidy up the autoconf/automake configuration a bit.
- Removed some old cruft.

- Removed some support for older versions of automake which technically was
correct, but caused the newer automakes to squawk warnings during an
initial sanity check (which isn't done very intelligently.)

NOTE: this fix is technically not correct for older version of automake.
These older version use the variable "INCLUDES" internally and could have
them already set to an important value. That is why we were appending
our values to them. However, newer versions of automake don't set this
value themselves so it is an error to append to a non-existant variable.
We seem to "get away" with overwriting the value on older versions of
automake, but if you have problems, consider upgrading to at least
  automake-1.5.

7543409e47 Attached are a fairly extensive series of patches to the ATC
system. A chap from Germany called Alexander Kappes (cc'd) got
in touch with me a few weeks ago and has written the start of
Approach control. At the moment tuning in to a valid approach
frequency (Dortmund or East Midlands) should result in vectors to
a spot about 3 miles from the active runway, and a telling off if you
stray too far from the correct course, in the console window. He
seems to know what he's doing so expect this to improve rapidly!!

I've added a rudimentry AI manager and a hardwired Cessna at
KEMT on the runway - I'll remove it before the next release if I don't
have it flying by then. There seems to be an issue with framerate
which drops alarmingly when looking at it - I've a feeling that I've
possibly created several Cessnas on top of each other, but am not
sure.

348ac42c90 Attached is a reasonably large patch to add a proper ATC
subsystem to Flightgear. No more functionality is implemented
than at present (apart from an ATIS bug-fix - station wouldn't
change if the radio was switched directly from one station to
another) but it is much neater than the current hack and should be
easily extendable.

Some cruft is still probably left over in radiostack.[ch]xx such as
the bindings to the comm frequencies but I'll leave removing those
until I'm sure they're not needed there.

1fa4c88d0e Updates to build system to better support automake-1.5
- automake-1.4 sets default values for INCLUDES which we can't
  overwrite.
- automake-1.5 renames this to DEFAULT_INCLUDES and leaves INCLUDES
open for the developer to use.

Thus for automake-1.4 we are forced to 'append' to INCLUDES and in
automake-1.5 we can just set the value to whatever we like.
Unfortunately, the behaviors of the two versions are mutually
incompatible.

The solution I am committing now works for both versions but
automake-1.5 generates a lot of spurious warning messages that are
annoying, but not fatal.
